How drop-stitch construction works

Two coated fabric layers

The top and bottom skins form an airtight chamber that can be inflated separately from the outer tubes.

Dense internal threads

Threads connect the two faces and resist separation, keeping the chamber flat and controlled as pressure rises.

Higher working pressure

Rover Marine floors inflate to 10 PSI, while the surrounding tubes inflate to 3.5 PSI.

A removable rigid-feeling deck

When deflated, the floor can still pack down. When correctly inflated, it supports walking, seated use, and careful standing.

Inflation and care

  1. Unroll the boat on clean ground and inspect the floor and valves.
  2. Partially inflate the tubes so the hull takes shape.
  3. Seat the floor correctly, then inflate it to 10 PSI with a compatible pump and gauge.
  4. Finish the tubes at 3.5 PSI and reinstall valve caps.
  5. Check pressure as air and surface temperatures change.
  6. Rinse, dry, and store the floor clean. Avoid dragging it over sharp or abrasive surfaces.

Drop-stitch questions

Can I stand on the floor?

Yes, when the floor is correctly installed and inflated, the boat is properly loaded, and conditions are suitable. Move carefully and keep weight centered.

Why does the floor feel soft?

Check that it is fully seated and inflated to the specified 10 PSI with an accurate gauge. Temperature changes can also reduce pressure.

Is it the same as a rigid hull?

No. Battle Boat and Battle Cat are fully inflatable boats. The drop-stitch floor provides a rigid-feeling deck without becoming fiberglass, aluminum, or a permanent RIB hull.
