What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law that requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

Why am I seeing this warning?

Some of our marine products may contain materials or components that include chemicals listed under California's Proposition 65. These warnings are provided to ensure compliance with California law and to inform our customers about potential chemical exposures.

Does this mean the product is unsafe?

Not necessarily. Proposition 65 requires warnings for a wide range of chemicals at very low levels. The presence of a Prop 65 warning does not mean a product is in violation of any product safety standards or requirements. Many everyday products carry these warnings.

Which products require warnings?

Products that may contain Proposition 65 listed chemicals will display a warning notice on their product page. Common materials in marine products that may trigger Prop 65 warnings include certain plastics, adhesives, coatings, and manufacturing materials.
