Rover Marine vs Zodiac Cadet Tenders: What the Published Specs Show

Rover Marine vs Zodiac Cadet Tenders: What the Published Specs Show

Rover Marine vs Zodiac

Zodiac is one of the best-known names in inflatable boats. Its US site shows range-level specs for the Cadet tenders, no prices and few warranty details, so a model-by-model comparison needs a dealer. Here is what the pages show.

This page sticks to what Zodiac publishes and flags where its US pages stop short. Zodiac sells through dealers, so for exact specs and pricing on a specific model, ask one.

Where Zodiac is hard to beat

Zodiac has a long history in rigid inflatables and a wide range, from roll-up tenders to fiberglass-hull RIBs like the Yachtline. For a premium RIB tender or demanding conditions, it is a serious option and a dealer can match you to a model. Zodiac also publishes CE design categories in its manuals, which many commercial buyers need.

Where Rover Marine fits

Battle Boat and Battle Cat are built for lakes, harbors, coastal runs and yacht-tender duty, with a published warranty of 5 years on the hull, 3 on tubes and seams and 2 on accessories.

Know your water. Battle Boat and Battle Cat are built for lakes, harbors, bays, coastal water and yacht-tender runs, and owners take them on open water too. Match the boat to the conditions, your load and your motor, check the forecast, and carry the safety gear your waters require (life jackets, a way to call for help, oars and a pump).

Warranty and price

Zodiac's product pages link only to a registration form. Its Zodiac Club page describes a 2-year contractual warranty plus a 3-year extension for registered members, 5 years in total, and says Cadet and Nomad dinghies are excluded from the extension. A 2022 US catalog lists Cadets at 2 years. Terms can change by market, so confirm with your dealer. Rover Marine's terms are on our warranty page.

Zodiac does not list US prices online, so we cannot quote one. Rover Marine lists $1,999 for 8 ft, $2,249 for 10 ft and $2,499 for 12 ft. Ask a Zodiac dealer for a written quote and compare it with the boat you actually want.

Questions we get

Is Rover Marine as good as Zodiac?

They are different boats at different price points. Zodiac offers a broad range including premium RIBs. Rover Marine offers two drop-stitch models built for tender duty, lakes and coastal runs. Compare the specific Zodiac model you are considering against the size you need.

Does Zodiac publish prices?

Not on its US pages as of October 25, 2026. You need a dealer quote.

Can I compare weights directly?

Not from Zodiac's US pages, which show ranges for whole lines. Ask a dealer for the exact model's weight or check the owner manual.

What should I check before buying either brand?

Motor rating, capacity, warranty exclusions, your state's registration rules and whether the boat suits your water. See our yacht tender buyer's guide.
